The Art of Hope Program is a mobile art program dedicated to benefiting the children of Shriners Hospitals. AOH conducts art classes at both Shriners Hospital Galveston-Burn Center and Shriners Hospital in Houston. Art classes are led by a group of volunteers who are either artists in their own right or are committed to AOH as a volunteer team member.
Utilizing original artwork created by the children, our graphic arts team makes an electronic copy of the child’s artwork. Products are selected to transfer the children's artwork onto, such as greeting cards, cell phone cases, ties, jewelry etc. The merchandise line created from children’s artwork is available for retail or online purchase. Net proceeds benefit Shriners Hospital for Children. The Art of Hope Program is exclusive to Shriners Hospitals for Children®.
Art classes are designed to be both fun and therapeutic for the children at Shriners Hospitals. Art activities provide a creative outlet for the children to express themselves mentally and emotionally while working on dexterity and various other forms of physical therapy.
The Art of Hope Program is also dedicated to providing a sustainable revenue stream benefitting Shriners Hospitals for Children®. Our goal is to support SHC’s efforts to provide the best care for children in specialty areas of Orthopedics, Burn Care, Spinal Cord Injury, and Cleft Lip and Palate, regardless of a family's ability to pay.
Net proceeds from merchandise sales utilizing artwork created during art class directly benefits Shriners Hospital System.
